Isole Eolie - Alla ricerca del falco
La natura offre per mare e per terra un repertorio di eccezionale rilievo. A Salina si trova una vasta colonia nidificante di falchi della regina, che giungono a nidificare in primavera dalle coste del Madagascar, costruendo i nidi lungo le pareti scoscese che collegano il mare al monte Pizzo di Corvo. Accompagnatori della LIPU guidano in escursioni per birdwatcher con cadenza bisettimanale.
I falchi si possono anche osservare dal mare, raggiungendo la parete del Filo di Branda, partendo dal porticciolo di Rinella. Sempre per mare, si puo' raggiungere il piccolo borgo di Pollara, che quasi non si scorge perche' infossato in un vasto anfiteatro naturale formato dallo scivolamento in mare di meta' dell'antico cratere. E' qui' che si svolge la coltivazione dei capperi piu' pregiati; la spiaggia di Pollara, inoltre, e' la piu' bella dell'isola e sulla stessa sono state girate alcune scene del film "Il Postino".
