Aeolian Islands - The Aeolian museum, the second section.

The second section (Rooms XI-XV) is situated in another small pavilion opposite in the Episcopal Palace. Archaeological materials from the islands of Panarea, Filicudi, Alicudi, Salina and Stromboli. You then move on to another building to the north of the cathedral where you will find: Section III and the protohistoric and classical burial grounds of Lipari, Section IV and the prehistory and protohistory of Milazzo, and Section V and marine archaeology. Lower left: Rooms XVI and XVII – Milazzo archaeological materials.
Room XVI (end) – Burial ground from the middle Bronze Age discovered in the district of Sottocastello (fourteenth-fifteenth century BC). The burial ground has been laid out exactly as it was found during excavations in May 1952, except that a few of the tombs on the outer edge have been moved slightly closer to the main group.

Room XVIII – Early Villanova burial ground (twelfth-eleventh century BC) and early Greek burial ground (c. 716-580 BC) discovered near Piazza Roma and Via XX Settembre.
Room XIX – This comprises the exact reconstruction of the burial ground from the early Ausonio II period discovered in Lipari during the excavations at Piazzetta Monfalcone, in the centre of the modern town, in 1953. Room XX – Exhibited here are the main types of sarcophagus, crematory urns and large vases containing the burial objects, memorial stones and funeral steles from the large Greek and Roman burial ground in Lipari.
